Java 1.6 Update 20 Rollout

  • Im trying to write a script to roll out the new Java to all workstations. I can do this easily if I want to download the Java .exe to each machine from the Kserver or from Java.com but that takes alot of bandwidth obviously. Im trying to script it like Kaseya does the AVG install. It downloads Java to the "Patch" source and then the workstations copy from the patch source to their local working directories where they then run the update. This way each location only has to download the .exe once. The problem is I cant figure out how to do this using the patch directory as a variable so that I dont have to redo the script for every company with a different UNC patch for all of them etc.

  • #patchparams.sourcepath# should do the trick, I'm not sure if it'll work in K2008 though...
