Hiding Adobe Reader and Java updates

This question is answered

Hello,

I have been searching and searching for way to simply "hide" or disable the Adobe Updater and Java Updater via a script but I've come up empty.  I generally run the updates monthly via a script but that doesn't stop Java/Adobe from checking on their own and causing a tremendous amount of pop-ups for users.  Further, does anyone update Acrobat Standard via scripting?  We're looking to possibly do that but can't seem to find info on that either.

Thanks in advance.

  • [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Update\Policy]

    "EnableJavaUpdate"=dword:00000000

    "EnableAutoUpdateCheck"=dword:00000000

    "NotifyDownload"=dword:00000000\

    "NotifyInstall"=dword:00000000

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM

    The value it changes is a DWord value of "iCheck".  The three options for the updater are:

    "Automatically Install Updates"      - iCheck = 3

    "Automatically download updates, but let me choose when to install them"      - iCheck = 2

    "Do not download or install updates automatically"      - iCheck = 0

  • Wow, that was fast.  Does this apply to Adobe Reader X as well and most versions of Java?
