Backup System Install Fails

  • I have been trying to install the backup system on a client machine that is running the Kaseya agent. However, after about 2 minutes of "Install Pending" I get the message that the install failed. A look at the application logs on the client machine shows that the MSI service does start. Can anyone give me some helpful pointers in how to troubleshoot this issue.

  • Check the Script Log for any errors to help indicate where the installation might be failing.

    Common causes are the unsigned driver issue.

    Another possible issue is the machine has a File Location set to a location that doesn't exist or the machine cannot access at the time of installation, so you could set it to download from the internet, which would cause the backup to push it to the machine directly.

    Any other information that you can provide about the failure would also help.

  • As usual, it's the one thing I forgot to check. The script logs gave me the answer. I had to create a registry key and everything was fine. Thanks for jogging my memory.

  • HKLM\Software\Acronis\TrueImageServer\Settings\WorkingDir

    That was where the script would error out.
