Major Problem with BUDR & MS Exchange since 4.3

  • About half of our BUDR clients are getting the following error on their Exchange Servers since 4.3:

    Type: Error
    Event: 2007
    Time: Sep 3 2006 12:15AM
    Source: ESE
    Category: ShadowCopy
    Username: N/A
    Computer: SERVER1
    Description: Information Store (3216) Shadow copy instance 2 aborted.


    We are not only getting this error in the Event log, but its NOT BACKING UP THE EXCHANGE DATABASES. To add fuel to the fire, and something I find frightning, Kaseya reports the backup SUCCESSFUL.

    All these servers are up to date with patches. I have also researched Acronis forums for this error and there none to be found. I have also tried to manually perform a backup by using the Acronis exe in the Program Files folder and I still get this error.

  • One more thing to add I have tried PAUSING the exchange databases like we used to have to before VSS was supported and this did NOT work. It forces VSS which produces the error.

  • Whew. This doesn't appear to be in our logs for our Exchange Servers. And I mounted the latest backup and I can see my databases there.
