KES - missing ticks in Security Status

  • Hey All,

    On various KES installs certain machines are only gaining ticks in the 'Protection' field of 'Security->Security Status' while others are gaining the full 3 ticks (one in Protection, File & Email respectively).

    Obviously each client is being installed the same way & many machines are exactly the same build so im not sure why this is occuring.

    Does anyone know why & if its impacting upon performance of KES on the affected machines? What steps did you take to remedy the issue?

    A reinstall would be an option but due to the nature of the KES uninstall id rather avoid that if possible.

  • Please make sure they have the same profile assigned to them.

  • Look under install. Do all show as being installed sucessfully?

  • yes. all are installed successfully (they have the single tick on the 'install status on the install/remove' page) & they have the same version. the only difference i can see is some clients have missing ticks on the security status page as mentioned above.

  • Examine the profile you assigned the ones without the tick vs the ones with the ticks (you might want to get a flea collar for them!). See if they are using the same profile. Also check to make sure the assigned profile has been sucessfully assigned.

    Assigning a profile to a machine with missing ticks fixes the issue (even if its the same profile as selected during KES installation).
