SBS 03 / exchange POP3 Connector

  • Customer is running SBS 2003 and has one account still using POP3 connector. Witch KES installed on the server, the following error is in the application log and hte POP3 connector fails..

    The POP3 server (mailbox ) responded to the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes connection with:

    Is there a setting I am missing? Anyone else see this? I have a ticket open but waiting on a technical response..

  • We experienced this error with one of our clients and it turned out to be a program called MailScan on the server as a spam filter. We disabled the service and the errors stopped. Also had to upgrade to the latest AVG version.
    My guess would be look for something getting in between your email server and the AVG scanner.
