2003 back up Install

  • When installing any software in Windows Server 2003 the system checks it for Microsoft certificates, and if software does not have these certificates, then Windows Server 2003 prompts user if he/she wants to continue installing the software. This is what can be preventing Acronis True Image OEM Kaseya from being installed remotely on Windows Server 2003. The easiest way around this issue is changing the policy before installing the backup module:

    a. Open the Local Security Policy tool on the server (Administrative Tools - Local Security Policy)

    b. Navigate to Security Settings - Local Policies - Security Options - Devices: Unsigned driver installation behavior

    c. Double click this item and select Silently Succeed.

    d. Click OK

    1. Uninstall anything that is listed in Add/Remove programs for acronis on the machine.

    2. Open Device Manager and look for an Acronis folder, if you can find any damaged components, remove them.

    3. Delete the HKLM\Software\Acronis registry key.

    4. Reboot.

    5. Reinstall backup, but Remote Control to the console of the machine using the TS /Console switch or VNC. Make sure no dialogs are prompted during the installation.

  • Does anyone know of a wayto change this local policy using scripting(either vbs or registry) for both server and workstation deployments?
