Backup could not run on "MachineName" for the last 2 attempt(s) because the machine was offline or busy running another script.

  • Any one else getting this a lot since 9.2 upgrade? I see no other scripts running and the machines are not offline.

    I do see the below events in the system event logs that cycle about every 10 min.

  • All our BUDR's went across seamlessly in the R92 upgrade. I haven't tried rolling out any new versions of Acronis - just left the existing 11.5-37977 build in place. so far so good.

    Will try upgrading to 11.5-43800 build next week.

  • I have opened a ticket with Kaseya Support. Request #109947

    They told me to try updating the agents again. I did but that did not help.

    For a test I did the following.

    Rebooted Machine this morning at 5:20 AM.

    Started a backup.

    Checked "Agent Procedure Status" and "Latest Application Audit" was scheduled to run then the backup.

    Came back and check on at 7 AM and the "Latest Application Audit" had ran but the backup job had disappeared.

    Scheduled another backup at 7 AM. Came back at 7:55 and backup job had disappeared again.

    This was in Logs

    Machine was never offline.

  • Using KES? Check if these servers are file source agents. I have a ticket open for the AVG 2013 LAN Share script timing out due to an out of date executable. This script could be hanging up your backup schedules.

  • Not using KES on all the machines I am having issues with. Some have Symantec others have Sophos.

    Did you have any luck getting this fixed?

    We're having the same (or very similar) issue, machine is not offline but the backup thinks it is or scripts are getting in the way.

    I also have a ticket open with Kaseya but it is very slow going.

    They suggested:

    "While I don't think that skip if offline option is the main source of the issue it could be a contributing factor. In 9.2 we have found some issue with the kserver.exe not communicating with the agents correctly as a result, sometimes procedures will take a long time to switch from scheduled to actually executing.

    If you like a can provide you with a 9.1 kserver.exe file, and the steps to revert back just that file, this way we can test if backups and other procedures run on time."

    Still have my ticket open. Got the same solutions from them. Run 9.1 kserver.exe or remove skip if offline.

    I think the skip if offline times out after 15min and some of my server seem to take 30 to 45 min before the backup starts. To me a quick fix would be to be able to change the skip if offline timeout to 1 hour if we could.

    Right now I am using the 9.1 kserver.exe. I just have to remember to replace it every time I load a patch because it goes back to 9.2.

    So, it sounds like that is working for you then, no false offline errors anymore?

    That is very disappointing news though.  Guess we're waiting on 9.3 for a real fix... hopefully...

  • I still get a false error once in a while. I have always gotten them every so often. It just got bad with v9.2.

  • So far, the 9.1 downgrade has helped us a lot too.

  • We are having the problems as well with backups not working, we logged a ticket about 4 days ago and have not received any response from anyone.  

  • I have been updated through my Kaseya ticket that they know the what the issue is and there is a patch to fix it in the works.  it should be released as a patch for 9.2 before 9.3 comes out.

  • 9.2.0.15 seems to have fixed the issue for me.

    Will check again next week to see if still OK.
