Cloud backup fail

  • I have been trying to make a backup of a server which is running an ERP with a SQL instance . The backup isn't working and delivering this error.

    "Windows error: (0x800423F4) VSS writer 'SqlServerWriter' with class ID 'A65FAA63-5EA8-4EBC-9DBD-A0C4DB26912A' has failed to process the snapshot."

    following this , I reach this post from Acronis backup

    "https://kb.acronis.com/content/57072"

    The post suggest to "Change the service logon from Local System to Local Service."

    so the question is :

    Does changing this can affect the ERP? and if there any other way of solving this.

  • We see this occasionally.  The easiest fix is to tweak the VSS that the specific backup job uses in the Acronis console.  

  • i am fairly new to the on-cloud backup, is the acronis console a build in VSA feature ?
