Availability of Windows 10 April 2018 Update (1803)

This question is answered

When should we expect to see the Windows 10 April 2018 Update available to push?  I know there was some issues in getting the last fall update to appear, but wanted to check if there was an ETA yet.  Thanks

  • It won't ever appear under patch management as it's an 'upgrade' and not a conventional update. There are various forum posts on this topic, one where I've provided powershell you can use to help with the upgrade process, there's also an automation exchange post (automationexchange.kaseya.com/.../443) which others have been using for the Fall Creators Update (1709) but presumably can be readily adapted for 1803.

  • Bumping this, as I wanted to confirm that same answer would also apply to the October 2018 update?

  • Yes, as far as I know the upgrade to 1809 will never appear in patch management. I believe Kaseya is working on a process to handle this better in their newer software deployment module.

  • Yep, at the European Connect this week, the feature was mentioned. But, expect this change to take months.

There are tools on the Automation Exchange to help you install these new W10 builds. It just downloads an ISO to the machine. The one for the September 2018 update isn't there yet, but I expect Kaseya will upload that shortly...

Count on a long time to do it this way (hours are needed).
