agent message pop up on client machines - why/where does this come from?

  • Why would this message pop up on a client machine after a patch scan?

  • Do you have any procedures in place to prompt the user when you are about to perform updates?

  • possibly it is an update which requires user interaction or automatic reboot. I have seen this years ago where office (2k or xp) updates were installed and showed this kind of messages.

  • Yes. This message was coming from the fact that I had inadvertently approved the Internet Explorer 9 update which requires user interaction to complete the install.
