Reboot Action of "Ask" is rebooting workstations.

  • For workstations we have a Reboot Action set to "Ask - Do nothing if user does not respond in 15 minutes"
Problem is, when the Ask dialogue appears the default action the user gets to accept is Reboot.
If the user is typing at the time of the dialogue box popping up and the user hits the Enter key or Spacebar whilst the dialogue is showing. Then the system accepts a user confirmation that a reboot is OK and reboots.

It would be really cool if Cancel reboot is the default action.

Just wondering if anyone can think of (or has implemented) a way of getting around this.

  • I think there are scripts here on the forums that have a yes-no dialog box which you can set an action to. Set the reboot action in patch management to do nothing and then setup a yes-no post script with patch management to ask for the reboot with the default button (probably on the left) with no do nothing command.

Dug up the scripts for you. Might have to change the buttons around for what you want.
