  • Known issues with this security update

    After you install this security update on a computer that is running Windows XP and that is using an ATI Radeon HD 2400 series video adapter, you may find that the computer does not start correctly. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

    1. Restart the computer in safe mode. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When you see the "Please select the operating system to
    start" message, press F8.
    3. On the *Windows Advanced Option *Menu, use the arrow keys to
    select *Safe Mode*, and then press ENTER.
    4. If you use a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select
    *Microsoft Windows XP* from the list, and then press ENTER.
    2. Click *Start*, and then click* Control Panel*.
    3. Double-click *Add or Remove Programs*, and then click to select
    the *Show updates* check box.
    4. Scroll down to locate the "Windows XP – Software Updates" section.
    5. Click *Security Update for Windows XP (KB969947)* from the list,
    and then click *Remove*.
    6. Restart the computer.
    7. Click *Start*, and then click* Control Panel*.
    8. Double-click *Add or Remove Programs*.
    9. Click the ATI driver in the list, and then click *Remove*.
    10. Click *Catalyst Control Center* in the list, and then click *Remove*.
    11. Restart the computer.
    12. Visit the following Windows Update Web page and install security
    update 969947 (MS09-065):

    (http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate)
    13. Download and install the latest ATI video driver from the ATI Web
    site.

    I am investigating now how to create views for this, anyone care to help?

    I don't see the video driver information available when vreatign a View in the VSA interface, but it should be captured in SQL somewhere.

    Maybethere is a table or Database View that we could query with Excel?

  • Perhaps query for the file version of the ATI Video Driver would give you the view you want?
