Patches like IE8

  • Hello all,

We have a lot of clients who have software that does not work with IE 8 yet, Deltek Vision, for example.

To prevent accidental approval and deployment, we've denied it in the KB override.

My question is, if it's denied in the kb override, can we then approve it int he patch management policies, so that at such a time when the client is ready for IE 8, we just remove the override?

Or should it be denied in all places?

  • The "KB Override" really is an override, meaning what IT says, goes.

So, if you have approved a given KB in the policy, but the override says "denied", then the patch is denied.

So, yes, if you have approved it in the policies, removing the override will cause the patch to be installed according to the policy or policies.

  • I often find wearing a lace front wig while working with patches to be a rewarding experience, however, I am yet to try it in a wedding dress. Thanks for the input Mr Bot.
