SBS2008 Support??

  • Hi All,

I've just deployed a new SBS 2008 server, and am not having much luck trying to get Kaseya working on it.

The agent installs and connects to the K server, but takes an age(8+hours) to execute scripts, and remote control only gives a black screen.

I notice that in the KaseyaD.ini in the agent directory its looking for these files, of which 2 will never be found as its a 64bit server:

    [MANAGED FILES]
    C:\Program Files\Kaseya\Agent\evLogBlkList.xml
    C:\Program Files\Kaseya\Agent\evLogBlkListEx.xml
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaseya\Agent\KaseyaFW.ini

Is this an issue with Kaseya, we are running SP1 update to 2008 Kaseya.

    Thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Opened a ticket with Kaseya on this. No RDP or KVNC from Kaseya to the server. VNC and RDP services are running correctly.

  • Well, according to Kaseya's excellent PR team that is hard at work issuing press releases, both SBS2008 as well as EBS2008 is 100% supported "including network monitoring and alerts, patch management, backup and disaster recovery, endpoint security and anti-virus protection"!

Coincidentally, Kaseya issued their press release the very same day (about 15 hours after actually) as another platform providers press release.

  • I havent bothered opening tickets anymore, they dont reply, tell you they get escalated but nothing, easier to diagnose and fix yourself.

On this issue I had to remove and reinstall the agent, I still cant remote control, and its been only slightly better at running scripts that I schedule.

  • We have one SBS 2008 server up so far. It has Kaseya on it and the only problems we've experienced so far are with scripts that weren't written to accomodate x64.

Did you have to do anything to get remote control working correctly?

No, but it's using Terminal Services.

  • I installed agent on SBS2008 and have noticed extremely high ram usage.
I stop and start service every couple days to get it down.

Seems ok with patching and remote.
