Event Sets

  • Hi -

Does anyone know where I can find some good 'default' event sets for both servers and workstations? I think I know and understand what I have to do, but it would be nice if I someone had some good predefined sets I could import. Once I get the defaults imported, I can tweak them to my liking.

Any help would be great, as for right now I am creating an alarm and sending an email for each and every 'error' in my application, security, and system events.

Thanks in advance for any replies or thoughts... Big Smile

  • In the upcoming release of Kaseya 2008, there will be several Event and Monitor sets included in the system.

  • Events.zip
Someone posted these on the old forums a while back. They are still basic but may give you some ideas. I would recommend purchasing a subscription to www.eventid.net. It is very helpful when sorting out what events to look for and is cheap.

  • Since the upgrade to 2008, the amount of Event Set's have increased.
For our Administrators who would customize these, and assign them to
a particular machine, the Event Set must be created by that Admin.

I have found that by Exporting a "Private Event Set" (a set that the Master
Admin can modify only) and reimporting it as a new Event Set, you must modify the "set_elements setName" and the "eventSetId=".
This will create the same Event Set as before, but now will show up
in the Event Sets area with the custom name from "set_elements setName".
Then you will also be able to add or delete anything from "Your Set" and
    even Delete it! Smile

This does not make your Event Set private though, but at least all other admins cannot edit, or delete your custom set.

I would have thought that with the changes made to Kaseya 2008, that
the Event Sets (Private) would have been treated the same as the Scripts
and even the Monitor Sets (Private). It would be nice not to see all of our
Admins custom Event Sets just the same as the current Monitor Sets.

This is going to be a future request, and I encourage everyone who agrees
that keeping admin accounts separate should submit the same request.

  • Definately agree that event sets should be private by admin/role.
