AVG / KES - CRITICAL UPDATE 6/18 - CAUSING WINDOWS TO BECOME UNBOOTABLE

  • Can't blame AVG... Trusteer behaves exactly like malware. Those guys are giving IT shops the finger in a bad way.

  • Speaking to customers within support tickets who have experienced the conflict between AVG/KES and IBM Trusteer Rapport where it causes machines to not boot have said the steps provided in the FAQ from AVG helped them get the machines booted up again.     If you are still encountering issues where you are unable to boot machines with AVG, detected the Luhe.Susphat.1 false positive and its quarantined files or still need assistance please open a ticket with Kaseya Support at helpdesk.kaseya.com.

  • To follow up with this thread, AVG and IBM have released updates to their respective software packages to address the conflict between the two applications.  Additionally, AVG has addressed the problem with the reporting of Luhe.Susphat.1.  helpdesk.kaseya.com/.../94791527-Endpoints-running-KES-freeze-or-will-not-boot has been updated with the current information, and all customers who had opened tickets on this issue have been updated directly via the ticket.  If you have any additional questions regarding this issue, please review the above KB or AVG's article here:  support.avg.com/SupportArticleView.  Questions not addressed in these articles can be directed to Kaseya Support at helpdesk.kaseya.com.  If you have questions regarding IBM Trusteer, please contact IBM directly.
