Proactive Maintenance.

  • I hope we can all share what scripts we use on periodic Maintenance of workstations. I have no problem sharing mine. I have a script I run daily for proactive maintenance. Any suggestions modifications would be greatly appreciated. I am sure this thread would be very helpful to everyone. My script is as follows. if you have ANY Questiosn about my script feel free to email me directly at rtrivedi@cadrenet.net. Do not send me emails in the Forum email / niotification system, I never look at it.

    Script Name: MAIN SCRIPT
    Script Description: This is the master script for all single scripts used to clean computers. MS Disk Cleaner, Spyware, Defrag and set time. Schedule this script to your Default Templates and rin at night! This should be the only script that you schedule for your computers. If you want to include more executions of additional tasks add a step to this script.

  • I don't know if Analyze defrag step1 works or not, but I executed a shell command with defrag c: /f and that works great. It runs in the background. I am also working on a monthly maintenance compilcation Big Smile

  • Analyze defrag step 1 is part of a larger script collection, take a search around the script forums for it, it works nicely on 32 bit systems... 64 bit systems it'll take some massaging to work correctly.

  • I actually posted the winhelp2002 hosts file idea on the Kaseya forums.

    But we quit using it after someone pointed out the comments in the file:
