Checking Server Licensing States

  • Has anyone found a way to monitor the CALS on server, including base user licenses terminal server licenses and Citrix server licenses, showing what is issued and what is installed?

  • We're looking into the same thing. We're experimenting with the "server sessions" monitor and then individualizing it for each server so if it goes above the limit we are alerted.

It's not reliable that I can see though. I tried finding ways of scripting checks but nothing yet.

  • I have this script that querys the logged on users, I'm sure it can be modified to do a hard count...

Script Name: Query logged on users
Script Description: Query users, write results to script log.

    IF True
    THEN
    Execute Shell Command
    Parameter 1 : query user >> #vAgentConfiguration.agentTempDir#\Tuser.txt
    Parameter 2 : 1
    OS Type : 0
    Get Variable
    Parameter 1 : 1
    Parameter 2 : #vAgentConfiguration.agentTempDir#\Tuser.txt
    Parameter 3 : Tuser
    OS Type : 0
    Write Script Log Entry
    Parameter 1 : Terminal Server Users are - #Tuser#<
    >
    OS Type : 0
    Delete File
    Parameter 1 : #vAgentConfiguration.agentTempDir#\Tuser.txt
    OS Type : 0
    ELSE

I'm looking into different monitoring sets to do this as deploying a script at that regular of an interval might be clumbersome... .

Edit: it seems that I am in err... I miss read what the request was... but the above script may be useful as part of a bigger plan... I'm looking at a few monitors too... still expreimenting but will post back if I find something useful...
