Anyone have success with Execute file - Enter Arguments?

  • Hello All
Recently I started to work with Kaseya script quite close, and already found something I need opinion of community:
Is someone succeeded to use Script option "Execute file" and correctly use "Enter arguments to pass to the executable" string?
I tested it with av scanner, some command line tools, even Defrag utility - unable to start. Working (partially) when instead You use Execute shell command.
Someone have positive experience (except Kaseya Support team Smile)?

  • Hey,

    It's usually pretty good.

Try changing if you run as user or as system.

Also, try using Execute Shell Command instead. Sometimes you'll have better luck with that.

BTW, here is an excerpt from a script I have working using the execute file command.

    Execute File
    Parameter 1 : #temp#\msinstaller.exe
    Parameter 2 : /quiet /norestart /log:#temp#\msinstaller.log
    Parameter 3 : 3
    OS Type : 0

    Regards,
    Chris

  • also, be sure to include "quotes" around pathnames with spaces in them.

  • I've used it many times with no issues. If I do have any, it's usually related to the quotes for long pathnames Smile

  • Ditto to the above posters, we use the execute file primitive to install the manual patches.
