IE7 Add-Ons script

  • I'm looking for assistance creating a script to monitor IE7 Add-Ons.

    Ideally, this script could

    - Report a list of all add-ons, both disabled and enabled, and their status.

    - Disable/enable individual add-ons.

    - Disable all add-ons (excluding those specified, ie Kaseya tools) and prevent new add-ons from being enabled/installed.

I think this can be done via the registry. See: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc737458.aspx

What I'm missing is a database of CLSIDs of add-ons.

Any help would be appreciated, and I'll share the script when completed.

It seems that there is no universal CLSID database. And I can't find where the name of the software is kept, although certain applications are able to do just that. (startuplist)

For what it's worth, here's the reg file I threw together to disable the most common toolbars and crapware.

If anyone wants to help me expand on this, please post.
