  • These scripts work great, but only if a user is logged in at the time. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to clear users temporary internet files while running as system WITHOUT deleting cookies and history.

    Any ideas?

Are these systems on a Windows domain? Some things are still done best with GPO. Try this instead:

User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Internet Control Panel/Advanced Page/Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder When Browser Is Closed

    or....

You could monitor for an event set that indicates a successful logon and then have that event set tied to a script which clears the cache. Here's some events for the event set:

Source Filter Category Filter Event ID User Filter Description Filter
    Security Logon/Logoff 540 * *Successful Network Logon*
Security-Auditing * All IDs * *An account was successfully logged on*
