  • You will be best served by learning the basics of how to use the scripting system yourself. Then you will find it ridiculously easy to answer your own question.

Toward this end I highly recommend the scripting webinar.

  • Thanks,

My needs are great for this script atm and most likely before I can get into one of those classes.

  • Here is a sample script you can use. upload the icons to the kserver and edit this script to deploy those icons.

    Script Name: Deploy Shortcut
Script Description: This very simple script uploads a Windows shortcut (.LNK) file into the Desktop folder of the All Users profile, in effect adding the shortcut to the desktop of any user who logs on the remote system. The shortcut must be initially created, uploaded to the server and selected from the "Select the source file stored on the server." before. Also change the name of the link in the path (CHANGE-ME.LNK) to what you want to appear on user desktop.

    IF True
    THEN
    Write File
    Parameter 1 : %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Desktop\CHANGE-ME.LNK
    Parameter 2 :
    OS Type : 1
    ELSE

  • You can also use Distribute File for this rather than a script. This always makes sure the file is there and is the right file.

Upload the file to the Kaseya server and distribute it to

    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Desktop\Link.lnk
