Dell Openmanage and Kaseya

  • Yesterday I had to replace a failed disk in a RAID 1 array on a PowerEdge 2850. The operating system event loggerdid not pick up the failure because it was the mirror that failed and not the primary. I ran Dell Openmanage to view the error message and confirm that the disk failed.

Are there any plans to exchange information with Openmanage?

    I need to monitor for:

    1. Errors in disk subsystems

    2. Errors in other components like fans, backplane, etc.

    3. General system hardware errors.

  • Is there a way to have open manager write to the event log?

  • Good question. I will check... That would solve my problem.

  • The openmanage web console can execute a command or send an snmp trap based on a particular alert or event. I suppose I can have the system send an email to the Kaseya server to generate a ticket when an alert occurs.
