  • Is there any way to add VNC, PC Anywhere, etc... tothe Windows FW when you initial install the agent. Or possibly when you install Real VNC?

  • I know you can do it with VBScript, have a look at: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/scripts/network/firewall/default.mspx

So you might want to create a script and sent that as a 'package' to be executed on the Agent. Keep in mind that you might need the correct credentials on the machine to change the XP firewall settings.

Haven't done that myself yet, but should be possible.

  • Th exceptions list for the WIndows firewall is stored in the registry at the following localtion:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\DomainProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List]

So all you need to do it write an additiona registry entry using a Kaseya script, and you can achive what you need.

  • You can also control the Windows firewall quite easily from a command line using the netsh command, making it very easy to control from a Kaseya script.

For example to disable the windows firewall from a command prompt:

netsh firewall set opmode mode = disable

You can type netsh firewall help for a list of commands to administer the firewall from a command line, or take a look here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/library/ServerHelp/28e2f559-bfa6-4f3a-857c-ffd045f8de79.mspx

Here is a list of some of the files you might like to allow in order for Kaseya to operate:

    In c:temp:

    Curl-nossl.exe (for downloading filesvia HTTP)

    KRlyCLis.exe (For remote control connections)

    KRlyCCon.exe (For FTP connections)

    In cStick out tonguerogram fileskaseyaagent:

    Agentmon.exe (Main Kaseya agent traffic)

KaUpdHlp.exe (Update helper for updating agent and local kaseya files)

KaUsrTsk.exe (For executing kaseya scripts, and spawning new processes)
