Script to check definitions for Microsoft Security Essentials

This question is not answered

Hi everybody,

Does anyone have a script to check if Microsoft Security Essentials virus definitions are up to date?

  • How did you want to track/report on the virus definitions?

  • Run the following...

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate -MMPC

  • Well, in Kaseya Agent Procedures > Schedule/Create > Sample Procedures > Managed Services > Anti Virus,

I see Mcafee, Stinger, Symantec, and Trend. I would like to add MSE as well. Actually now that I am looking at it, it would be nice to have ESET and Norton. I would like to utilize the "Check All Virus Defs" procedure (in the same section)  to pull information on all of the different Anti Virus software. This would give us good information for new clients. We could use the information to sell licenses for KES/KAM. We have a client with 4 different types AV software, and my guess is some of them are already out of date, expired , etc...

As far as how I want to track it, for the moment it would be nice to have them report to the script log, just like the rest.
