Populate Custom Audit Field with a Clickable Hyperlink?

This question is answered

So in Audit > Machine Summary > New Custom Field I've created a field that I want to populate with a hyperlink via a script.

However, for example if I tell the script to update it with http://google.com/#variable# it is not clickable. Is there a way I can make it clickable?

  • Thanks, how do I open a feature request? I see that there is sub section in this forum for it. I guess an admin could go ahead and move this thread there. Otherwise I might flood this board with the topic haha.

  • Go to http://portal.kaseya.net and create you an account if you haven't one.

    I haven't tried this at all and it may not work but have you tried using ASP code for the link? Such as, in your example, put the following code into the variable:

    <a href="google.com/.../a>

  • Sorry. The post killed my code example... Le tme try one more time:

    <a href="google.com/.../a>

  • I tried that : (

  • Dang. Sorry. But you should be able to find numerous references to a simple ASP HREF tag on the web...

  • Ahhh... I should have known. Ah, well...

  • The only other option that comes to mind is hacking the agentDash.asp page to make it render your custom field data as a hyperlink. Not your best long term solution, though.  :-)

    Perhaps a feature request to Kaseya?

  • Thanks for the tip. I will look further into hacking that page! :)

  • If you put the HTML link in the custom asset field, you will be able to click it from the Agent --> Agent Status page once you've added it as a column.

  • Will I be able to update the column with a variable that I generate through an agent procedure, though?

  • Further to this it would be nice if you had an update button next to a custom field so it updated values like windows install date etc from our own custom scripts or if you could tie your custom scripts to run with the computers audit.
