Does "Power Setting - Turn off Hard Disk after x Min" interfere with Remote Access and Scripts?

This question is answered

I was wondering if you guys knew whether if it was necessary to adjust the "Turn off hard disk after x min" setting to Never in Windows power settings in conjunction with disabling standby/hibernation to keep the computer alive for remote access and agent procedures?

  • No. If the system has turned "off" the hard drive due to inactivity, then it will simply spin it back up once the system needs to access the drive again. May take an extra second or two to get things going, but there's no need to disable this powersaving setting.
