I am trying to deploy Office Pro Plus for Office 365 using the Office Deployment Tool (ODT).
I was able to upload the relevant .XML file and setup.exe to the shared folder location on the kServer (SaaS).
When I run the script I can see the 2 files drop down to C\Temp then nothing happens.
Can anyone advise where I have gone wrong?
I manually ran the setup file in conjunction with the switch which worked OK without the need to pre-download any further files.
We use execute shell scripts:
Kill processes that may fail the install:
taskkill /F /IM skype.exe /T && taskkill /F /IM lync.exe /T
download the setup files:
cd "C:\temp\O365" && setup.exe /download configuration.xml
run the install
cd "C:\temp\O365" && setup.exe /configure configuration.xml
try putting the full path to the xml in the configure switch
I do that through an agent procedure using chocolatey. chocolatey.org/packages
Here is an update.
Swapped out the executeFile command for executeShell command. This made no difference.
Modified the .xml file to pre download the O365 files and then tried to run setup again but failed.
Even tried to wrap the setup.exe command and switches in a batch file but still no joy.
Exitsys, you mentioned using chocolatey, do I need to pre install this before running the package?
Massive thanks to Mdavis.
I have been working on this for a few days and in the end I could not see the wood for the trees.
Following your precise syntax of cd "C:\temp\O365" && setup.exe /configure <name-of-configuration-file>.xml did the trick!
Had I paid attention first time around I could have saved myself a lot of heartache.
Works whether I pre download the O365 files or not.
