why does this WMI query fail?

This question is answered

I can change it to win32_logicaldisk.freespace and it works, but it fails on win32_systemenclosure.chassistypes , any ideas?

  • ChassisTypes is an array/list, not a single element. I've tried on a few systems here and only get one result in the list, but I have to enumerate it like a list or array to get that one item. There's no ability to parse an array element in this that I'm aware of.

When I need this kind of thing, I script it (VBS or PS) to return the result.
