backups on a TS and SBS 2003 server

• Hey guys i am currently having a problem with backups failing and or not even completing.
i was wanting to get a monitor runing so i get a email or even a ticket when the backup fails as i am not finding out till 2 days later when i get a call saying our backup failed.
any help would be gratly appreciated.

or BTW
two servers
a terminal server - windows server 2003-runing c:\windows\system32\ntbackup.exe and is runing as administrator with set passwords.
SBserver 2003 -runing c:\program files\microsoft windows small businuss server\backup\bkprunner.exe
both are using windows scheduler to get the tasks going
now my TS server has lately been getting a last result code of 0x40010004 and i have only noticed like 2 days after this has happened witch is not good.

thanks for any help in getting this done.

• here's a set that monitors successful events. As for failures, I just monitor all NT backup event ID's for errors.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
<event_sets>
<set_elements setName="NT Backup Success Events" eventSetId="35729862">
<element_data ignore="0" source="NTBackup" category="*" eventId="8019" username="*" description="*The operation was successfully completed*"/>
<element_data ignore="0" source="NTBackup" category="*" eventId="8000" username="*" description="*Begin Backup of 'C:'*"/>
<element_data ignore="0" source="NTBackup" category="*" eventId="8001" username="*" description="*End Backup of 'C:' '*"/>
<element_data ignore="0" source="NTBackup" category="*" eventId="8018" username="*" description="*Begin Operation*"/>
</set_elements>
</event_sets>
