alarm on reboot

  • Besides the function of knowing how long an agent does not check in to the kaseya server, we are looking for a way to get an alarm when a server has rebooted (for instance by a power surge or other problem. Is there a standard function in Kaseya or is it possible to make somthing like this based on the information that is held in the database?

  • Perhaps this might be too rudimentary, but maybe you could set a System Event Log alert searching for the "The Event log service was started" event since this is almost always an indication that the machine has just started?

  • I was indeed thinking about something like that, but wondered if there was a standard aproach to this within Kaseya. I couldn't find one.

I will have a go with your suggestion since it makes sense not making it to complicated.

  • Here is what we alert for:

    Log: System

    Type: Informational

    Event: 6005

    Time: Aug 28 2006 2:37PM

    Source: EventLog

    Category: None

    Username: N/A

Description: The Event log service was started.

The entry is an "Information" entry, so "Warning" and "Error" won't work.

    Good luck.

  • The following will catch unexpected server restarts as a result of a power outage or hard reset.
