  • I also found a few nice Mib Sites.

However - when adding custom SNMP sets with MIB data - how do you know what to look for? And what exactliy to monitor?

Is there a site somewhere that describes what's in the MIB set?

  • you can view the mib with notepad. But I am finding it more and more difficult to find what events I actually want to monitor.

I wisk Kaseya could take a MIB file and store it. When you want to monitor a device, you say this is a HP printer laserjet4100 use the hp laserjet 4100 mib and monitor everything.

then you could goto monitor and see all devices on the network and expand a tree view of the MIB/monitored portions of the specified device.

This whole snmp monitor this just isnt as easy at it appears.

  • I have just been getting an SNMP MIB walker, and finding the OIDs of the values I want to monitor. There are many out there, WS_Ping Pro has a very basic SNMP walker, but it gets the job done.
