Happy Friday, everybody! I've just submitted the ticket below to Kaseya (CS098207). I will pass along any response I receive. I'm determined that this will not be "Feature Requested" into oblivion... Good afternoon,I'm sure this isn't the first time you've been asked this question, and it certainly won't be the last:http://community.kaseya.com/xsp/f/29/p/261/764.aspxhttp://community.kaseya.com/xsp/f/28/p/14198/69227.aspxhttp://community.kaseya.com/xsp/f/36/t/262.aspxhttp://community.kaseya.com/xsp/f/29/t/13427.aspxhttp://community.kaseya.com/xsp/f/28/t/11924.aspx(there are more, I'm just lazy)I understand that many of these folks have put in Feature Requests as early as 2010 for this same request... but here goes again:Can Kaseya please add Agent Procedure Steps to "Suspend Alarms" and "Unsuspend Alarms?"This would help everybody by:1) Allowing us to suspend alarms prior to Automatic Updates, and unsuspend alarms after Automatic Updates are complete:2) Making it easy to temporarily stop alarms if an Agent Procedure is cycling a key serviceI certainly understand, if the machine is not online, that the "Suspend Alarms" and "Unsuspend Alarms" Agent Procedure Steps would have no impact (the machine needs to be online in order to run an Agent Procedure), so a site-wide alarm suspension (for an internet outage/flood/earthquake/tornado) would still have to be done manually, and that's not a problem... you could certainly mention this in the "notes" field of the Agent Procedure Step. What I'm looking for here is an "Official Response" from Kaseya... this "Feature Request" has been in the works since 2010, and is something that many of your best customers are asking for. Given that this request has, in the past (per forum posts above), been relegated to a sort of "Feature Request Purgatory," I'm kindly requesting a direct response (Yes/No, When) from Engineering on this issue. And yes, this ticket (and any responses I receive) will be added to the Community Forums... fair warning :-) We've all waited long enough...Thanks,Brian Daganbdagan@cwps.com

Ok, official response:
I will create this as a custom step you can select when creating an agent procedure, possibly available as a hotfix, if two conditions are met:
1) Brian Dagan agrees to come to the user conference and buys me a beer
2) HardKnoX promises to put off raiding in World of Warcraft for an evening and make it out to one of our upcoming Kaseya events in Australia
Deal?
Ok Hardknox, NZ then :)
Since you all are such good sports I put together the custom steps this evening.
Grab this zip file:
http://tinyurl.com/csaztyo
Extract to your Kaseya folder. You should be asked to overwrite Subscripts.xml.
Run a Re-Apply schema. When it finishes, go try out the new "Alarms - Suspend" and" Alarms - Unsuspend all" custom steps.
I'll be submitting these for inclusion into 6.3 unless you guys report anything really odd with them.
Kaseya claims to be a platform for everyone:
"Kaseya is the leading global provider of IT Systems Management software. Kaseya solutions empower virtually
everyone –– from individual consumers to large corporations and IT service providers –– to proactively monitor,
manage and control IT assets remotely, easily and efficiently from one integrated Web-based platform."
I don't remember our sales person telling us that we needed developers and DBAs to dig into code and queries to handle things that most other RMMs handle with ease (alert dependencies, suspend alarms on and off, suspend individual alerts).
Looking at the quote from Kaseya above, Kaseya isn't even integrated into one web-based platform anymore. Now we have KNM to allow us to monitor network devices because the core product can't handle that task.
yeah definitely disappointing I put this in as a feature request before 6.1 was released.
The most annoying thing is that to do it is very simple so to add it would be very simple and probably could be added in a hotfix...
so looks like we will have to see if we can do it ourselves...
Guys .. It's done .. we've got it .. it works ... just drop me an email I'll explain how

Just to explain my rather conspicuous absence after starting this whole mess:The fact that the ticket remains locked by Scott Brackett since late last night gives me hope that there's something going on behind the scenes on this.I definitely owe folks some replies here; however, I want to make sure I have all the facts before going any further down the rabbit hole Thanks for y'all's patience... a follow-up is coming...
You've already got the official answer, it's a feature request
Here is a SQL script to automatically Clear Overrides
Just FYI, for those who did not know the enfusion guys sell their service to MSP's
Not that their is anything wrong with selling your Kaseya skills, but it explains why they tend to mess up feature request posts because it is in their best interests for Kaseya not to add these feature requests so they can add the functionality for money.
@Brendon Cosgrove Are there any near future plans to add functionality to the Community portal for Kaseya Pro's who want to sell their services to MSPs? There was same talk about a Market that you could sell your Kaseya addons and scripts from one of the Kaseya events about a year ago or so, I just think there must be a better way for them to be able to sell their services...
@Ben: I agree... thank you, thank you, thank you. See you in May!
@HardKnoX: Do it for the... um... whatever people covet in WoW. Yeah. That stuff. Please?
Sorry to let you guys down but I don't live in Australia, I will go to one in NZ if you can promise me it won't be a huge waste of time (speaking of past experience that is)
@Ben hope you will still do this, not just for me but for the whole Kaseya Community. You will always be the Uber Kaseya Grand Master in my book, even if you decide not to add this feature.
You the man Ben, if your ever in the UK, there's a pint waiting for you.
Hi Ben,
That seems to work fine but I have to say it is so frustrating to think how relatively simple this was to do and I asked Kaseya for this before 6.1, so two versions later its gets done and a few files later we have the ability..
Again while I am very grateful just so frustrating.
Michael
Ben you rock, I'll be giving this a whirl later today. another thing to look forward to in 6.3 thank you very much!
Ben,This works great! I did notice that the "Unsuspend" functionality clears out all alarm suspensions (as noted in the name of the step), but this is easy enough to work around by ensuring that my Engineers do not rely on scheduled recurring alarm suspensions, and instead treat alarm suspensions as "one-time events" and let KPM handle the pre and post-patching running of the "Suspend Alarms" and "Unsuspend Alarms" Agent Procedures that I'd specified.I really do appreciate that the Community's voice was heard on this issue, and plan to make good on my promise of frosty beverages at Kaseya Connect Thanks again!
Thank you Brian and Ben. Keep on kicking ass. We can definitely use less complaining and more doing from everyone. Also, beers!
