Reporting on Dell Warranty Information

  • Hi All,

    I was wondering whether it's possible to report on the warranty status of Dell machines without the need for a paid 3rd party tool such as Warranty Master etc?

  • A few years ago that was a possibility and there was several procedures circulating to do so.  Today, we use Warranty Master and import via a script that Brian Manning wrote.  Currently, Kaseya is working on a process to go directly from Warranty Master to the database to further streamline the process.

  • Upstream's PowerPack contained a procedure that checked machine's Dell warranty via VBScript. I can share it if you wanna check it out?

    It seems that Dell has blocked warranty checks so the procedures do not work anymore:

  • FYI, we wrote and published a new Dell Warranty lookup script.  It is available on the Automation Exchange for $10, or included in a ClubMSP subscription.
