First time checkin error

  • I have agents installed at two customers who are not able to reach the KServer, even though other customers and remote PC's can. All outbound FW ports have been checked. I've also tried JNuttalls tips.

    Any suggestions?

  • Are you checking in with the external or internal ip address of your Kaseya server? According to the documentation, best practices says to use the external ip address of your Kaseya server. I know that tripped us up.

  • Yes, I've checked all of that. The thing is that the address works external clients. Another thing to add: I can surf from the PC in question to the KServer, yet I can't ping nor telnet to it, and my tracerts are stopping right at my router.

  • Probably a silly question, but is port 5721 allowed through?

  • Yes, and I can see it's working fine as I have a connection from my work laptop now at home.

  • Lesson Agents 101: Check the clients own Router with inbuilt FW. Some have only selected ports open (80, 443, etc).

    I fixed this by adding a rule for 5721.
