Customizing look of Kaseya Client Installation

  • I have been able to add my own custom icons to the kaseya client, but I would also like to customize the way it looks in Add/Remove programs so that people will know that it is something that I installed for them. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

  • Hmmm, sounds interesting. I'd also like to see this. We have a customized logo in the systray, but it would be nice to see our logo in the add/remove programs menu.

  • Better yet, remove it from add/remove programs. There is a script called Reset Client Branding that removes Kaseya from the start menu, renames the service in services and removes it from add/remove programs. We didn't want people un-installing the agent anyway.

  • We too remove the it from the add/remove program section so clients can not remove the client. But it is necessary sometimes during troubleshooting to uninstall the client and the uninstall commandline is very long. Here is a script which willhide the uninstall commandline right in the registry so your techs can find and use it but clients won't see it.

Script Name: Add Registry Key Kaseya Uninstall
    Script Description:

    IF True
    THEN
    Set Registry Value
    Parameter 1 : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\YourCompany\Manual Client Uninstall
    Parameter 2 : "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{48C76121-4F90-11D5-9884-0050BA85A903}\Setup.exe" UNINSTALL
    Parameter 3 : REG_SZ
    OS Type : 0
    ELSE

  • Cool. How do you run this from the registry?

  • It's just for reference, but the tech can cut and paste the commandline right into Start- Run. It saves about1 minute looking up the commandline in your email.

  • Where is the Reset Client Branding script located? I've looked under my sample scripts and do not see it.

  • Xagent is our brand, you'll have to change that.

  • Thanks. I only recently setup my Kaseya server so I'm wondering if that script was an old script. Thanks again.

  • I tried to import that script, but I get an error when importing that says:

THEN statement 1 Script Name: Reset Client Branding is not valid

    Any ideas?

  • reset client branding.txt
Sometimes depending on how you cut and paste the script it will introduce unreadable characters. Try using the attached file
