Starting about three weeks ago, we seem to be seeing an issue with our Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007 servers after the weekly patch-related reboot. Several of the Exchange services are not started, and thus Outlook won't connect. Seems to be the RPC service, Exchange protected services, and a couple of others.
Simply right-clicking and starting these services fixes the issue, so there's nothing (as far as I can tell) preventing these services from starting. The self-healing options are set to restart the services if they fail... but it doesn't seem to be happening.
Is anyone else seeing this issue?
Seeing the same issue here with exchange services on multiple servers.
Have you figured out a fix yet?
Actually yes, I used the microsoft fixit here: support.microsoft.com/.../940845
Did you change the dependencies or use BootPause?
All I did was run the Microsoft Fix It for me thing.
There is another known bug in Exchange 2010 and 2007 (I think) that can cause some exchange services not to start after a reboot. Apply the latest exchange rollup to fix it.
