does anybody know if we can use KNM to check if remote desktop service is responsive?
this morning i had a W2008 Remote Desktop server that users could not RDP into, no log errors, no stopped services no indication anything was wrong.
after restarting the remote deskopt service everyting worked fine again.
so i was just wondering if there is a way to test this with KNM?
Its tricky when a service like this just stops working without crashing, you can try the Terminal service monitor, it connects to the terminal service server on the port and checks that it responds to connection attempts (ie. do the whole accept connection loop), it do not however login or validate that anything beyond the connection works:
