KNM Network Discovery Question

This question is answered

Kaseya Network Monitor 4.0 (Build 6541)

KNM Host: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition

I just want to know if why every time I run a Network Discovery in KNM, I get duplicate copy of object/workstation like the screenshot above? Is there an explanation regarding this? And what are the difference with ARP and Ping (Slower), ARP only (fastest) and Full scan (slowest, but checks for all services)? Hope you can help me with this. Thanks :)

  • Two network cards in the same machine ?

The discovery methods that uses ICMP and ARP is recommended if you are scanning your local area network, if you are scanning a remote network the Full scan is recommended.

  • Regarding the duplicate scan of object, no there is only one network card in a machine.

Thanks in answering the discovery methods. :)
