  • If you are interested in obtaining KNM 4.1 integrated VSA Add On which enables Service Desk ticket integration and introduces KNM as a function tab in the VSA; contact Customer support via one of these methods.

    If you want to look at the Service Desk add-on piece; either

    1)      Email:  sales-cs@kaseya.com

    2)      Call toll free in the US 877-926-0001 Option 2 to request an install

    The key requirements are Service Desk 1.3 must be installed in the VSA and the KNM instance must sit on the same server as the VSA instance.  This base level integration allows KNM to surface alarms to Service Desk to generate tickets in a KNM specific Service Desk.   KNM 5.0 will offer a deeper integration working with the VSA; we plan to have that for customers to look at early Q3.  You can view the KNM 4.1 announcement webinar here:  http://community.kaseya.com/resources/m/mediagallery/71387.aspx.  For an up close look at KNM 5.0; visit the labs or join us for the overview session at Kaseya Connect in Las Vegas starting Wednesday May 2.

  • I would not bother with KNM 4.1 due its very limited integration with the Kaseya VSA. In my case it is so limited that I can't even access it via the VSA and have to open KNM as a separate page. The documentation on this is also very limited and I would like to see them cover the install process in greater detail.

  • Access via the VSA in our case was a Port No. issue where our FW / Proxy  etc would not allow the default port 8080 to be used

    So we changed it by editing the following files and replacing every reference to port 8080 with a different port number

    D:\kaseya\KNM\init.cfg

    D:\kaseya\vsaPres\AppMetaData\Applications\1Home\Modules\knm.xml

    Then run a http://localhost/inc/getcheck.asp from the VSA

    Cheers

    Paul

  • If you are using SSL Certificates you will need to do this or you will have connection issues when you try and access it under VSA portal;

    help.kaseya.com/.../index.htm

    What is strange is with this SSL Setup tool when I added a user name and logon with it it showed no existing certificates, if you cancel instead it used the my current user account which was the same account I gave it in the first place and it gave me 3 certificates to choose from.

    Around changing the port number for the server under "Network Monitor\Settings\Server IP/ Port" despite what they said in one of the Kaseya Video's you can't use the Agent port 5721 as it breaks remote control and live connect.
