Internet Explorer 6

  • Hi,

Can anyone tell me how I can view all machines in Kaseya that are running Internet Explorer 6? I want to be able to install Internet Explorer 8 on only those machines that are running Internet Explorer 6. I have a report but I want to view or select only those machines. Maybe even like a check registry entry for IE6 and then run IE8 script.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks. Smile

  • You can create a view with the option selected of Missing Patch. I don't remember the KB # for Internet Explorer 8.

  • However that will show me IE7 also. Is there another way?

  • We had the same issue trying to identify the IE versions running on some of our machines. What we ended up doing was the following:

Write a script that polls the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\IE and then the version. Write the version to the agent log and then run a report based on the agent logs and it'll give you a report of the machines' IE version.

  • Chose "All Workstations"
    Is Missing application "iexplore.exe"
    Version string is > 6.9*

That seems to be picking up anything lower than IE7 on a workstation.
