Hi guys,
Has anyone setup monitoring for VMware ESX? I think it's done through SNMP but am not sure. Would be interested to see if anyone else has it setup.

if its a HP / Dell you can use the HP / Dell monitoring tools - you install the tools into ESX and then setup a collection server.
SNMP is not that reliable and easier via the main provider tools.
if esx you need to be on version 4 to get disk monitoring.

Install HP Sim on any server and then use the auto discover feature will pick up esx servers as long as the ESX definitely has the manufacturer management tools. IF it is a dell there is an equivilant package to HP sim cannot think of the name give dell a shout and they will give you download location.
