How to Install Agent When Already Installed

  • Hi All,

We have a new client that we are going to be working with and their old MSP had kaseya installed.

Short of having to manually uninstall the old MSP's Kaseya agent and then reinstalling ours is there another way to get our agent on the workstations?

    Matthew

  • Yes... have the prior support guy change the primary K server (and secondary as well) for these agents to point to your K server.

If he is unwilling to do this, then find out what his primary K server was, and if it's a DNS name (vs an ip address) create a zone for that dns name and point it to your K server (you can kill the zone once you're done).

One each client system there is a KaseyaD.ini file. You can also edit it and change the setting to what you need them to be.

At least these are the first ideas that come to mind for me.

That's a darn clever idea boudj, and a really good tip. Clever DNS changes or routing hacks can quickly fix a problem like this.
