Distributing Files To Multiple Servers

  • Hi Everyone,

I am hopig that someone will be able to point me in the right direction. I have 100 servers that I transfer files to every month. Each server is transfered the same file but with a different extension every month.

I have created a variable for each server directory but when I come to select the files to distribute the system is asking me to select a specific file, I do not want to do this,

Anybody have an ideas of how I can do this?
    Help Please!!!!

  • Stage the files in a publicly accessible location and use the Get URL script primitive to grab the file. Within the URL, you could use test the use of a variable set previously in the script. If the URL accepts variables (it should - never tried this myself), then you could set the extension by variable.

  • Hi Michael,

Sorry for sounding stupid but I cannot find the Get URL script?

  • He means to put the files somewhere that is pubically accessible (not on your VSA) and then use the "Get URL" function as one of the steps in your script. You can then give it the URL of: http://www.yourwebhost.com//filename.txt.
