New Client Checklist?

  • As we continue to improve our procedures, I'm in the process of documenting the 20, 30, 40 items that we perform when a new MS client comes on board.

Instead of reinventing the wheel, I'd rather go golf.

To get me started, does anybody have a checklist or to-do list that is executed when somebody signs on the dotted line?

Thanks in advance. I'll make sure I post my results when I'm done

Process is completely dependant on your business procedures and agreement types so i doubt someone can help you with this.

For example process with us look something like this:
First there is a trial, after signed trial agreement account or manager enters agreement details into ERP.
Someone from operations installs agents with standard install procedure
Reports are generated and details are stored in MOSS
Account manager after trial period contacts client
    ...
    ...
    ...
    ...

I too am looking for something like this. Here is what I wrote up so far, although most of it has nothing to do with Kaseya:
    New Customer Checklist
    • Add customer to ConnectWise.
o Import user list as contacts into ConnectWise.

    • Create support administrator account.

    • Get SLA in place
o Make sure end users understand requirements
o Send email explaining the helpdesk procedure.

    • Setup OpenDNS
o Configure the server to use OpenDNS for all DNS resolution.
o Make sure workstations are only using server for their DNS.

    • Protection Gateway – install in protection (AV, Spyware, Intrusion Detection) and monitoring mode (Web and Protocol) first.

    • Install Kaseya and enable auditing only

    • Lock down workstations according to what management will allow.

    • Configure WOL script so that users can turn computers off during the week.

    • Servers – Configure maintenance

    • Workstations - Configure maintenance on the weekend

    • Configure reporting

Please feel free to add to this. It would save a lot of time to know what other folks are doing.

    thanks,
    Sid

hey what's your process for wol?

ive found that we sometimes have to enable in bios, sometimes in the driver and sometimes both leading to spotty wol support accross the lan

imo-anything spotty like that is not worth working with

the exception is when we setup a new site and can roll out workstations from a single vendor and aren't dealing with a mess of random whitebox machines
