Responses to Apple survey

  • I am curious as to how others replied to the Kaseya email inquiring about Apple support and what features we partners felt were important. Here was my response, from most important to least:

    1. Remote Control
    2. BU/DR, especially for OS X Servers
    3. Patch Management
    4. Auditing
    5. Help Desk functionallity for Safari. Currently, OS X users are using email-to-help desk feature because only IE on Windows is supported.

Perhaps having an open discussion will bolster Kaseya's support for Apple. TIA.Smile

  • When did that email come out?

I've got clients on Mac (even have one myself!) and would love to input into the survey.

Maybe it was just a USA thing?

  • We hadn't seen the survey either.

Perhaps Kaseya didn't want everyone taking it?

Nonetheless, I've completed it though with slightly different priorities.

    Here's ours:

    1. Auditing
    2. Alerts
    3. Remote Control
    4. Scripting
    5. Patch Management & BU/DR

Basic auditing and alerting are the most important.
    Remote control would be next.
And then more advanced things like scripting. Patching would be a distant fifth place but very nice to have. BU/DR would also be nice.

Didn't Apple recently release a module to allow most of these functions? Couldn't Kaseya license that rather than re-invent the wheel? Apple doesn't want to make money on system management - they just want their platform to be easier to support, so I'd think they be thrilled to have more products supporting it.

  • Thanks for the link.

    My priorities are slightly different:

    1. Auditing and Alerting

    2. Scripting

    3. Remote Control

    4. Patch Management

    5. BU/DR

I don't believe Patch Management on the Mac is as important as it is on the PC as Apple seem to have this sorted out pretty well. However, it would be good to get updates and reports on what has happened.

    Regards,

    John
