I have a doc on how to develop for User Account Control in Windows Vista. I am attaching it for your review.

For those of you who do not know what User Account Controlis... it is going to be a nightmare for several several months... maybee longer. Basically this is the system that will help stop spyware, viruses, and everything else from getting "admin" access to the OS. Sounds great huh. Well guess what, it is going to make a lot of programs crash and crash and crash, until the software vendors catch up. I am positive that you can turn this feature off, but then you are basically right back with Windows XP only now there are a whole new group of vulnerabilities to expliot.

User account Control is going to be a pain in your IT side.

So I thought I would give you a heads up so you know how to prepare your application for it. It is a good read. This is Microsoft's answer to Unix, Linux security. O boy... please raise your hand if you think that Microsoft is going to get it right on the first try. I do however smell money. Smile
