When you try to connect to your kaseya server you see a message saying

The Virtual System Administrator failed to connect to the database named (local) with account KaseyaVSAnnnnnn.


Some Backup tools cannot handle a running SQL process, so they attempt to stop the service before backing up the data. This does not stop Kaseya at the same time.


Before attempting to reset the password, restart the SQL service, and restart the Kaseya Service, along with the KWebExec Service.

If you still see the message, try restarting the server before changing the password settings. The reboot will ensure that all the services come up in the right order, if you still see the error proceed with the instructions.
