Kaseya breaks previously installed VNC??

  • We recently rolled out Kaseya to our customers. Prior to this they had RealVNC installed, so that not just us but other vendors could VNC onto their machines. Upon using Kaseya's implementation of VNC, we can no longer VNC onto their machines using just RealVNC (i.e. we HAVE to use Kaseya, it is the only thing that works).

We have even tried uninstalling Kaseya, then uninstalling RealVNC and re-installing them, yet RealVNC still will not function.

Please help us get functionality back on RealVNC!!!

    Thank you

    Paul

  • I would do the following:

    1. uninstall Kaseya

    2. Uninstall any remaments of "x"VNC.

    3. reboot

    4. user regedit and throughly search out all hints of both Kaseya, and "x" VNC in the registry and delete them. NOTE: you will not be able to remove anything that is in the legacy folder... so just ignore and continue on... no big deal there. Smile

reboot again, and install "x" VNC and you should be good to go.

    5. If you have restore points available, that would also do the same thing.

  • ps poobah... I dont work here.... so make backups and cover your assets appropriately.

It sounds like a reg entry is lingering behind and is altering your VNC installation.
